Treasure Hunt
While I was sucking time looking for some very important pictures when I was supposed to be cleaning and decorating my house, these are some gems I mined, priceless treasures from my youth.
Fine Art: A lovely yarn-moulded, tin foil relief
I am rather certain I got the picture of this bird off some kind of "ladies product", but for the life of me, I can't remember what now. It was not Dove soap, it was something more personal, like maxi pads or birth control or something. I remember hoping no one would recognize where I got it.
This is one of my FAVORITE childhood pictures...most of them aren't nearly this stinkin' adorable, and because this one is, I'm not at all above stating the obvious. That cutie-patootie could have sold doll babies or Easy Bakes or something. This is when chubby really IS cute.
Ahhh, but this...THIS...is chock FULL of blog fodder. Apparently, I was quite"touched" gifted as a precocious nine-year-old. Too bad the original cover art disintegrated. I'm sure it was spectacular judging from what lies beneath.
Stay tuned...reading this stuff, I realize my drama-queeness-exhibitionism came very early in life. My mama was sick...I was a middle child. I had to do something for attention. Reading it again, I laughed until I cried. Love it when that happens.

Treasure chest.
I'm so excited!!!!!!
First, I hope this place isn't as chaotic as it was here yesterday. Did you just lose complete control, or what? I don't recognize the first treasure. The photo of you is adorable.
And, the smiley face in the O. Awesome! Can't wait to see what's in that book. Glad you are cleaning house. Makes for interesting blogfodder.
You were a cute little girl!!! (all my old photos are at Pamela's house. I will have to ask her to dig some out for me.)
Can't wait to hear some of your stories.
by the way - just sent you an e-mail.
karmyn
Of your own, mind you!
I've lost my short stories from youth (ah, lost youth), but I found a copy of my first novel. I was in 6th grade. Maybe I should give the story in excerpts on my blog.
Or maybe not.
Bring it on!
Pamela, I'm afraid this will be funny only to my family (and me), but I've enjoyed everyone else's journals/stories/etc., so I figure, why not :).
Swampwitch, are you saying me cleaning is interesting fodder? Ha! Me cleaning is MIRACULOUS!
Karmyn, my new pictures are in disarray, but in boxes (ones taken from about 20 til now). My old ones were not taken care of very well. Please DO have Pamela go on a hunt for all things Karmyn (& Amanda...). BTW, someone hit my site googling "Bodacious Karmyn"!!! Did they hit yours too??? (I'm afraid they were sorely disappointed unless somehow you've embedded secret bodacious photos of yourself and didn't tell me!)
Heather, I wonder if that was the name of everyone's book. I'm pretty sure it was fourth grade, it's not really dated. That being said, one of the poems is about a student teacher I had, and if I'm right, that's when it was. YOU MUST PRINT YOUR FIRST NOVEL! That's just too cool :).
WT, will do...thanks for the idea to scan and share in the first place. Ha! You inspired me!!
ok, tmpi, on the first pic
can't wait to read the ramblings of a 9-year old drama queen!
I think the top photo looks like a picture taken from an airplane.
Ohhh!! Too sweet!!
Looking forward to seeing what's inside your magic little book!!
LCO, I've posted my first, it's not to queenie...but the stories were ridiculous to me! Oooooo, I was gonna ask what "tmpi" meant, but I just figured out the "p" was personal, right?
Vicki......ha!
Stephanie, When all is said and done, I'm pretty certain I'll be the only one laughing...this is kind of like telling someone else your dreams, they just aren't that interesting to anyone else....
what a cute baby you were:)
